About

There is a recognized lack of awareness and importance brought regarding the health of women and marginalized communities. In particular certain conditions specific to women such as endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and even periods have a significant lack of knowledge and discussion surrounding these conditions despite their prevalence in the aforementioned communities.

Here at WAVES (Women’s Advocacy in Vancouver - Empowering Society), we strive to address this lack of knowledge and discussion by working to close this gap gradually and inspire others to do the same, and further inspire others with a domino effect.

We believe all women can embrace who they are, can define their future, and can change the world.

Our Objectives

  1. Organize events that educate and raise awareness of health topics relevant to women and marginalized communities

  2. Collaborate with local organizations in creating aforementioned events

  3. Raise awareness for women and marginalized community health topics

  4. Create opportunities for women and marginalized communities to get together and have a shared and safe space to discuss, support, and upraise each other
